Periodic Inspection and TestingEvery electrical installation deteriorates with use and age. It is important for the person responsible for the maintenance of the installation to be sure that the safety of users is not put at risk, and that the installation continues to be in a safe and serviceable condition.
By carrying out a Periodic Inspection and Test, sometimes known as Fixed Wire Testing, and by carrying out the necessary remedial repairs that it identifies, a duty holder will be able to provide evidence of maintenance backed up by documentation. This in turn will ensure that a companies liability insurance is not invalidated should the need arise to make a claim.

All our engineers who undertake this work are qualified electricians who test to City & Guilds 2391 standards.
MJL Groups’ electrical Inspection and Testing Division employs fully qualified engineers who provide a truly National coverage for our clients. As members of the NICEIC and the ECA, we are one of the few national companies who are able to, not only carry out the test and inspection works, but also carry out any necessary repairs. PAT Testing satisfies the requirements of more than 5 H&S Acts where a duty of care exists. We are continually developing of our working procedures and the equipment we use. This now means that we are able to provide the results of our testing in more than 5 different electronic formats which we are able to send via e-mail, or alternatively you can download them directly from our portal. The standard format of our results is PDF; however we are able to provide test data in all common formats. This is both environmentally friendly and also does away with the expense of storing large folders of test reports for our clients.
We have improved productivity and safe working conditions by upgrading all of our test equipment to new handheld test units. This means no more trailing leads during testing and it is also contributing to lower service costs.

Thermal Image SurveysThermography is the use of an infrared imaging and measurement camera to "see" and "measure” thermal energy emitted from an object.
Infrared thermography cameras produce images of invisible infrared or "heat" radiation and provide precise non-contact temperature measurement capabilities. Nearly everything gets hot before it fails; making infrared cameras extremely cost-effective, valuable diagnostic tools in identifying equipment that may cause danger if left.
Thermography is recognised for the first time in the current 17th Edition of the Wiring Regulations as a method of effectively maintaining your electrical systems.
MJL Groups thermography package offers the best overall value for all your maintenance reliability needs: electrical, mechanical, indoor, outdoor, and much more. Our handheld thermal imaging systems find problems, prevent unscheduled downtime, identify hazardous environments, and assist in providing the corrective action and improve plant safety, thus saving time and money.
